In a tragic incident, a 24-year-old woman died after she was allegedly transfused with a wrong group of blood at a government-run hospital in Bangalore.

Rajeshwari BG, an anaemia patient who was 'O'+, died on Thursday after being given B+ blood.

Her family has lodged a police complaint blaming the blood bank technician at the hospital.

The government has ordered an inquiry into the episode, official sources said.

The patient, who died early on Thursday, was suffering from anaemia for the past few years, officials said.
