Woman raped, looted in Ranchi hospital

A 50-yr-old woman has been raped and her jewellery looted by a youth who also allegedly tried to kill her.

A 50-year-old woman was raped inside the Rajendra Institute of Medical Science (RIMS) and her jewellery looted by a youth who also allegedly tried to kill her, police said.

Police said the woman, whose son was undergoing treatment in the hospital, was raped on the top floor of the hospital on Monday.

The son of the victim was undergoing treatment in the orthopaedic department of the hospital for the last few days. She was returning to his bed after buying some sugar when the youth intercepted her.

The incident sent shockwaves among patients and their relatives at the premier hospital.
