Kantabai Bhaurao Wankhade was set ablaze on Sunday by the eight people including three women in the early hours, they said.

The woman later succumbed to her burn injuries later in the evening that day, they said.

According to police, the deceased had a land dispute with ex-husband Bhaurao Chandraji Wankhade. Earlier, Kantabai had deserted him and was staying with one Wasudeo Tayde.

On September 14, Bhaurao Wankhade and seven others allegedly poured kerosene and set her on fire, they said.

Police has registered an offence against the eight accused under sections 302, 34 of IPC following a complaint by her son Narendra Wasudeo Tayde.
