Woman shot dead by unidentified men

An elderly woman was shot dead by unidentified persons at Sirsouda village near Bhind, police said on Thursday. Sharda Devi Sharma (60) was shot dead when she was keeping a vigil on her crops at her agricultural field.

Sharda Devi Sharma (60) was shot dead on Wednesday night when she was keeping a vigil on her crops at her agricultural field, after the men snatched away her gold ornaments, they said.

Her body was recovered from the field by her family members who went in her search when she did not return home for a long time, police said.

A case has been registered and further investigations are on, they added.
