Woman stabs man to death

A WOMAN allegedly involved in flesh trade, stabbed a man to death in a hotel room in Choti Gwalotoli area of the City. She also sustained a stab wound and fled in an auto rickshaw from the hotel and got herself admitted to MY Hospital where she was operated upon.

The deceased has been identified as Rajesh, son of Heeralal Sahu, resident of Malviya Nagar. He worked with New Sharda Travels in the Sarvate bus stand area where his job was to bring passengers for the travel agency buses.

The woman identified herself as Sanju, but the place where she came from is not known. Rajesh and Sanju had come to Triveni Lodge at around 10 pm and booked a room. The deceased gave false information in the hotel register and wrote that he lived in Dhamnod, while he gave the woman’s name as Mamta.

At around 12.30 am, there was shouting and screaming from inside the room. When the hotel employees went to investigate they found a Rajesh bleeding profusely from the stab injury.

CSP Irmin Shah said Sanju has regained consciousness, but police have not yet taken her statement. As of now, the woman has told police that the man brought her to the hotel room and had tried to stab her, on which she retaliated, which resulted in his death.

However, police believe that the circumstances in which she was found, Sanju appear to be a sex worker and she stabbed Rajesh following a dispute over payment. Police have tried to establish her identity but have failed so far. No family member has also come forward. In fact, the cost of her medicines is being borne by the police.

According to doctors the stab wound is not very deep but it might have damaged some veins.
