"Despite awarding contracts for construction of 300 roads, the contractors are not willing to take up the projects following Naxal terror in Bastar region," Netam said while replying to a question in the House.

The roads were to be constructed in the Naxal-infested pockets of restive Bastar region.

The Minister said the State government had brought the matter to the notice of Prime Minister and the Union Home Minister. "We urged to handover the work to Border Roads Organisation (BRO), but the Centre was not taking any initiative," Netam added.
