DIRECTOR GENERAL, Makhanlal Chaturvedi National University of Journalism, Achyutanand Mishra would be honoured with ‘Yash Bharati Samman’ for year 2005-06 of Uttar Pradesh government. The award carries an amount of Rs five lakh and a citation. Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Mulayam Singh Yadav would present this honour at a function in Lucknow on January 16.

Mishra is completing one year in office at Journalism University on January 15. Before becoming the Director General of National University of Journalism, Mishra worked for newspapers included ‘Amar Ujala’, ‘Jansatta’, ‘Navbharat Times’ and ‘Lokmat Sam-achar’ in various capacities.
He is also holding the post of national president of National Union of Journalists and member of Editors Guild of India. Earlier, Mishra has received various honours, including Ambika Prasad Vajpayee Samman, Patrakar Bhushan of Uttar Pradesh Hindi San-sthan and Ganesh Shankar Vidyarthi Patrakarita Purushkar for his services to Hindu literature and journalism.
