Activists of Youth Congress in Allahabad on Monday demanded that Priyanka Gandhi Vadra be fielded from the Allahabad Lok Sabha constituency in the coming general elections.

The Youth Congress activists, led by former district unit chief Sanjay Tiwari, gathered in front of Anand Bhawan, the ancestral house of the Nehrus, holding placards and chanting slogans in support of their demand that Priyanka “be asked to fight from the city of her ancestors”.

Tiwari later said that a delegation of Youth Congress has also sought an appointment with AICC president Sonia Gandhi and her son and party general secretary Rahul Gandhi “whom we wish to apprise of our desire to work under the leadership of Priyankaji who has been doing her bit for Congress so far without having formally entered active politics”.
