Youth caught taking exam for another candidate

BHU authorities nabbed a youth allegedly taking the BEd entrance exam on behalf of another candidate in Varanasi on Saturday, reports Sanjog Mishra.

The Banaras Hindu University authorities nabbed a youth allegedly taking the BEd entrance examination on behalf of another candidate in Varanasi on Saturday.

The youth has been identified as Ram Dular, son of Mahendra Ram and a resident of Sihari village of Nandganj area of Ghazipur district. He was taking the exam for Ram Raksha Bharati.

He was nabbed from Kendriya Vidyalaya Centre in BHU when the invigilators suspected a difference in signature.

Later, the youth accepted that he was taking the exam for his friend.

Ram Dular said he himself was scheduled to appear in the UPSC examination in Allahabad on Sunday.

"We have handed over the youth to Lanka police and recommended action under Section 420," said assistant chief proctor Prof HN Prasad.

Meanwhile, the entrance examinations for 13 undergraduate courses in BHU began on Saturday. The entrance test of BEd and BEd (special) were organised at Varanasi, Delhi and Kolkata centres. About 18,000 candidates took the test. There are 420 seats of BEd and 66 seats of BEd (special) in BHU and its affiliated colleges.

"The examination was held peacefully at all the three centres of Varanasi, New Delhi and Kolkata," said BHU chief proctor Prof SK Singh.
