IT IS now the turn of the City Youth Congress to vent anger against Samajwadi Party (SP) general secretary Amar Singh.
The phone tapping controversy of the SP leader and his levelling of charges on Congress president Sonia Gandhi, has enraged members of the Youth Congress.
State general secretary Prashant Shukla has accused the SP of levelling false and baseless allegations on the Congress party.
Talking to newsmen here on Thursday, Shukla said, “The SP government has failed on all fronts and political murders have become a routine feature. In order to divert the attention of the masses from the deteriorating law and order situation in the State, SP general secretary Amar Singh is levelling baseless charges of phone tapping on the Congress president. As the slogan of ‘Uttam Pradesh’ is a mere rhetoric, it has failed to attract the masses,” added Shukla.
The power and water crisis in the State and worsening law and order situation has left the masses disenchanted. Upset by constant criticism, the leaders of SP have lost their mental balance and are, therefore, levelling baseless charges, asserted Shukla.
Also present on the occasion, student union leaders of the DAV College Saurabh Bhadauria and Amit Tewari accused the SP of committing atrocities on students. The wrong policies of the State Government have left hundreds of students in the lurch, as they have not been able to secure admission in degree colleges, accused both student leaders.
