According to details Bunty, son of Keshulal, who belongs to scheduled caste, had eloped with a 14-year-old girl on April 8. On the report of girl’s father Nagusingh, the Kaytha police registered a case of abduction against Bunty and recovered the duo from Zalawad. Both were presented before the court from where the girl was handed over to her parents while Bunty was remanded to police custody for four days.

According to police Bunty complained of suffocation in the lockup room last night and was allowed to sleep in another room at the police station. He broke the window and escaped and later committed suicide on the railway track.

There are reports that Bunty was tortured in police custody, which led him to end his life. Superintendent of Police G Janardan has suspended two cops including in-charge sub inspector Ravindra Yadav for dereliction in their duty.
