Youth lynched on charge of eveteasing

The young man, identified as one Chhanda, was caught for allegedly teasing a girl of the same village.

A youth was beaten to death on charge of eveteasing at Raichhapara village in Sundargarh district of Orissa on Sunday night, police said.

The villagers were watching the tribal 'karma' festival when a young man, identified as one Chhanda Toppo, was caught for allegedly teasing a girl of the same village.

Enraged at this, the crowd started beating the youth injuring him grievously, the sources said adding he was then dumped before his own house.

The youth died before medical help could be provided.

Police had detained two persons in this connection.
