YSR constitutes his cabinet in Andhra

Governor Surjeet Singh Barnala administered oath of office and secrecy to the cabinet which has 10 representatives from Telengana.

Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister YS Rajsekhar Reddy on Saturday constituted his cabinet inducting 24 ministers, including 11 new faces.

Significantly Congress' pre-poll ally TRS has been left out of the cabinet formation.

Governor Surjeet Singh Barnala administered the oath of office and secrecy at the sprawling Raj Bhavan premises in Hyderabad.

The cabinet includes PCC president D Srinivas and two of his predecessors M Satyanarayana Rao and K Rosaiah.

YSR's team comprises six BCs, five SCs and one ST MLAs.

The Telengana region has 10 representatives, 11 from Andhra and three from Rayalaseema.

Of the 24 ministers, six are first time MLAs while former Deputy Chief Minister Koneru Ranga Rao, M Satyanarayana Rao and K Rosaiah are the senior most ministers.

Former Chief Minister N Janardhan Reddy's wife Rajyalaxmi, J Geeta Reddy and Sabita Reddy are the three women minsiters sworn-in on Saturday.

N Jarnardhan Reddy represents Visakhapatnam in Lok Sabha.

First timer G Vinod is the son of former Union Minister G Venkatswamy, who won the Lok Sabha election from Peddapally.

The new cabinet, which gave a lion's share to weaker sections also includes two members from the minority community Md Shabbir Ali (Nizamabad) and Fariduddin (Medak).

Of the 23 districts, Khammam, West Godavari, Chittoor and Mahboobnagar besides the state capital was not represented.

While all ministers took oath in the name of God, N Raghuveera Reddy swore in the name of his parents.
