YSR's chopper not airworthy: DGCA

According to the DGCA, the chopper that was carrying Andhra Pradesh CM YS Reddy had not renewed airworthy certificate for the last two years. However, Civil Aviation Ministry has said that the chopper's airworthiness certificate is valid till December 10, 2009.

The seven-seater Bell 430 chopper was registered on 14th June 1999. According to the rules, choppers have to be checked and certified once every year, but this particular chopper's certification was pending for the last two years.
