After filing returns, Zaheera would urge the Income Tax authorities to revoke their order provisionally attaching her properties, her counsel Umesh Deshpande said.

Deshpande said Zaheera's total assets were worth less than Rs one lakh and she did not own any flat in Mumbai or plots in Vadodara as claimed by income tax authorities. As such she is not required to even file returns but in keeping with Income Tax department's directives, Zaheera would file returns within a fortnight.

Zaheera's properties attached by the Income Tax include five bank accounts, including three in Syndicate bank at Bhayender in Thane district, a house in Ekta nagar, a flat in Mumbai and two plots in name of Zaheera's brother Nasibullah.

Zaheera's lawyer said that some properties mentioned in the attachment order were wrongly put in as Zaheera did not own them.

The attachment notice, signed by DR Chhatre, additional Income Tax Commissioner on May 26, was received by Zaheera's lawyer on June seven. On April 28, the income tax authority had also attached Zaheera's account with Bank of Baroda with Navapura branch in Vadodara.
