Five arrested for killing peacock in Indore's Betma area

Five people were arrested from Indore's Betma area for peacock poaching, police said on Saturday.

Five people were arrested from Betma for peacock poaching, police said on Saturday.

Police have recovered carcass of a dead bird, a few bullets and rifle from the accused.

Acting on a tip-off, police raided a place near Annapurna warehouse in Betma area on Friday evening and arrested Mohammad, Ahshiq, Sohail, Mohammad Kalam and Shahid.

The accused confessed they had killed the bird for its meat.

Betma police have handed over the accused to the forest department. A case has been registered by forest department.
