Chaos and tension again took MY Hospital by storm as nurses at the hospital staged a dharna on Monday on the premises.

The association alleged that Dr Thakur had not behaved properly when he was on his daily round of the hospital. "Surya Kiran Sharma, one of the nurses who was on duty was attending to the patients, when he came to her and started shouting and abusing her in public. He even went on to say that he would slap her in front of the patients," said one of the agitating nurses.

The reason cited by the doctor for the inappropriate behaviour with the nurse was the loose running tap in the ward. "The PWD had been informed about the bad condition of the taps. It is not the fault of the nurse, if there is a leakage. She is not there to do that," said Ramesh Jat district president, Nursing association.

A complaint was also submitted to the dean that highlighted all the problems faced by the nurses.

Misbehaviour and inappropriate conduct topped the list. Refusing to go back to work unless and until the superintendent apologised, an apology was finally issued by Dr PS Thakur. A time slot was also given to the nurses between 1:30 to 2 in the afternoon to discuss their problems as the nursing staff complained that the superintendent is never available to hear their grievances.
