Schools across the district had made all possible arrangements for the Friday telecast of Prime Minister’s Teachers’ Day speech, as per the orders of the district education authorities.

While some schools managed to arrange television sets, some others had to make do with radio sets and many others used plain bedsheets for projector screens.
Many schools also altered the timings to ensure students got to listen to Narendra Modi’s address.
"Our school runs for six hours from 8am to 2pm. Since it was compulsory for us to telecast it and because we could not have asked our students to stay back till late, we changed the timings to 12 noon to 4.45 pm," said Kalpana Mishra, a teacher at the Government Maharaja Shivajirao Higher Secondary School.
The enthusiasm among students was palpable. "I'm excited to hear our PM talk live with all the teachers and students across the country," said a student, Shubham Kanade.
While most listened attentively, for many the 90-minute speech cum interaction proved too long. Technical glitches also spoiled the show at many schools.
