Acting on a tip-off that three girls were being married off, a team of officials from the department reached the spot and persuaded the parents of two of them from going ahead with the marriage, Women and Child Development Department's project officer Chitra Yadav said.

As per the school record, both the girls were 13 years of age.

However, the third girl was found to be 18-year-old and hence no action was taken in her case.

The parents of the two minor girls filed affidavits giving an undertaking that they will not marry their daughters off till they turn 18, said Yadav.
