Will make Madhya Pradesh a manufacturing hub: CM

With 5,000 participants and Rs 6.89 lakh crore received as intent of investments during the course of the Global Investors Summit, chief minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan termed the event as hugely successful.

He announced that the next GIS would be held in Indore on October 19,20 and 21, 2016.

"We did not expect this summit to be so successful when we started out," a visibly happy and relaxed CM said while interacting with the media. Chouhan said that he personally had 40 one-to-one meetings.

He promised that Madhya Pradesh will be the first in the country to implement in earnest PM Narendra Modi's 'Make in India' call. "We will make Madhya Pradesh both a digital and a manufacturing hub," he said and added that there was an added sense of hope and enthusiasm among the investor with Prime Minister Narendra Modi at the helm.

Chief minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan said that he along with senior officials would be available for the industrialist in the first half of every Monday to ensure that the maximum number of intent of investments (IoI) received during the Global Investors Summit (GIS) takes off.

He said during the course of the next one month the government will talk to all the investors, get to know their expectations and then draw a roadmap for the investment. "We are not rigid about our rules, if we feel that they need to be changed we will do so," he said, informing about the various changes He said apart from attracting investments, this event was about branding Madhya Pradesh. "The outside world is getting to know our state and everyone wants to come and invest. We will sit down with representatives of different countries and invite them to Bhopal to discuss things," Chouhan said.
