The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) on Saturday recovered nearly Rs 65 lakh in cash from the home of a Rajasthan Administrative Service (RAS) officer.
The officer, Kajor Mal Dundia, is currently posted in Hanumangarh district as additional district magistrate (ADM). He was earlier caught red handed accepting a bribe of Rs 5 lakh for settling a land related matter.
Inspector General of Police (IGP), ACB, Smita Srivastava said they received a complaint from a Pawan Goyal in Hanumangarh.
Goyal alleged that ADM Dundia had demanded a bribe of Rs 75 lakh from him for a matter pending with him. However, they settled for Rs 60 lakh. Goyal paid the first installment of the bribe – Rs 4.5 lakh – a month earlier. The officer was trapped while taking the second installment – Rs 5 lakh – on Saturday afternoon. The ACB officers later recovered Rs 8.5 lakh from his official residence.
Later, another team led by additional SP Narottam Lal Verma, searched his residence at Vyas Colony in Bikaner, and recovered Rs 55.60 lakh in a suitcase. Jewellery worth Rs 10 lakh and documents of three plots in Jaipur, valued to be Rs 3 crore, were also recovered.

Not the biggest haul
This is certainly a big catch for the ACB but not the biggest haul.
In August 2010, ACB sleuths in Ajmer arrested Surendra Sharma, a deputy manager in the Rajasthan Dairy Federation, and recovered nearly Rs 4 crore from his various lockers in Ajmer and Jaipur.
In 2009, the income-tax department had recovered Rs 10 crore in cash from private vaults belonging to a well-known Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) functionary, Damodar Modi. Modi worked as a broker in Jaipur.
