Alwar: Spurious liquor kills 3 more, death toll reaches 6

Currently, there are seven people admitted to hospitals in the city. A campaign has been launched in the entire district against the illicit liquor.

The death toll in the illicit liquor incident has climbed to six in Toda village under Laxmangarh police station. Three arrests have been made so far in the case. Three people died on Saturday night in Alwar. Currently, there are seven people admitted to hospitals in the city.

The excise department has suspended two of its employees while the superintendent of police has suspended Govindg arh’s SHO Amit Choudhary. Three people- Banai Singh, Lokesh and Suresh - died on Friday night. Their last rites were performed without informing the local police.

Inspector general of police of the Jaipur Range, Alwar’s district magistrate and the SP are camping in Toda village. A campaign has been launched in the entire district against the illicit liquor.

DM Mukta Nand Agarwal, SP AP Lamba and IGP of the Jaipur Range DC Jain are camping in Laxmangarh. Agarwal said that four persons have been sent to Alwar for treatment. A team of doctors are moving from doorto-door in these villages. SDM of Laxmangarh Beena Mahavar has been asked to conduct an inquiry into the incident.
