Army chief reviews mounted cavalry parade at SW Command

Army Chief General V K Singh today reviewed a mounted parade organized by the 61st Cavalry Regiment at the South-Western (SW) Command in Jaipur.

Singh, who is also the Colonel of the 61st Cavalry, reviewed the parade on horseback, the first Army Chief to do so, official sources said here.

The officers, Risaldars and Sowars of the regiment were dressed in their complete ceremonial regalia and mounted on 220 horses.

Singh after reviewing the parade appreciated the soldiers for their flawless display.

"It was a fantastic perfromance and I appreciate it. The regiment has earned name and fame worldwide, and I hope that it will continue to do so. This is a proud moment for me. I on the occasion congratulate the command, its officers and Jawans," Singh said after the parade.
