The complainant, Rekha Meena, 20, a scheduled tribe unmarried woman of Dausa, posted as junior engineer in BMC since 2013, worked under executive engineer Sanjay Mathur and assistant engineer Akheram Badodiya since May 2014. According to Meena, Mathur and Badodiya often harassed her for field duty and when she complained to then commissioner Rustam Ali Shaikh, the duo removed her from engineering work and shifted to Bhamashah Yojna.

The State Woman Commission has forwarded the complaint to Bhilwara collector for necessary action and sought an inquiry report.

The BMC officials are now trying to settle the issue with the victim, Meena said. She alleged that Badodiya insisted on Meena to accompany him to sites after 6 pm and when she refused, the harassment began.

The victim’s advocate also sent a notice to all the concerned officers on December 5, 2014, but BMC didn’t reply as to why she was alone posted in the Bhamashah Yojna continuously for six month when there are eight more junior engineers in the BMC.

The victim alleged that after taking the charge of BMC commissioner, Sanjay Mathur regularly threatened her for suspension, as she was on probation. BMC chairman Anil Baldwa allegedly ignored her whenever she tried to meet him. “I had done a lot of construction work in eight months in different wards, but I couldn’t fulfil the wishes of Mathur and Badodiya, so they have mentally and physically tortured me, but at last I will win because truth always prevails,” Meena told HT.

All efforts to contact Baldwa, Mathur on their mobile phones proved futile as they did not attended the calls.
