Chambal International Film Festival from March 10

The Chambal International Film Festival will be held on March 10 and 11 in Kota where short films documentaries, music videos and animation films from across the world will be screened.
The two-day festival will be organised by the Anugoonj Media Pvt. Ltd and the fest will give filmmakers an opportunity to showcase their talent.
Festival director Kapil Siddhartha said that the audience will get a chance to watch short films, documentaries, animation films and music videos of a number of filmmakers from across the world.
“This is for the first time that Kota will host an international film festival,” he said.
Lyricist Sayeed Quadri, director of photography and film-maker Mazhar Kamran, singer and music composer Kshitij Tarey will be the members of the jury who judge the films screened and decided the awards for different categories.
As many as 316 films from 28 countries, including the US, the UK, Canada, Switzerland, Greece, Germany, France, Japan, China, Belgium and Denmark among others have been nominated in the fest out of which 160 films will be selected for screening, Siddharth said.
Awards in 15 categories will be given, including the best film, best director, best actor, best actress among others, he said.
“The nominated film-makers will be awarded a certificate of merit for official selection.”
Harishchandrachi Factory that nominated as India’s official entry at the Academy Awards 2010 in the best foreign language film category will be screened at the festival.
