Ahead of the Ayodhya title suit verdict to be pronounced on Friday, AICC General Secretary Digvijay Singh today said that Congress has asked its MLAs and MPs, especially in Uttar Pradesh, to stay in their respective constituencies to ensure communal harmony and brotherhood.
Congress apprehends that some radical communal organisations, both Muslim and Hindu, could disturb the law and order situation after the Supreme Court delivers the verdict, Singh, who is incharge of party affairs in UP, told a press conference here.
"What ever may be the court verdict on the Ayodhya issue, the communal forces, if trying to spread venom of hatred in the communities, would not get success as the Central and the state governments have ensured action and security," he said.
Singh said that the UPA government is monitoring the activities of both Hindu and Muslim radical groups as well as the BJP, and no one would be allowed to indulge in anti-social activities.
He also said that the Mayawati government has taken precautionary measures to ensure law and order situation in Ayodhya and other parts of UP, which is "appreciable".
Denying that Ayodhya could be a political issue for the Congress in elections, Singh said, "people have understood the game plan of fundamentalist political parties which politicised it for their political ends. In 1992, the saffron party had created hype in society, and tried to fetch votes. But this would not be repeated anywhere now."

{{/usCountry}}He accused the Mayawati government of indulging in deep corruption and said that Congress would form a government in Uttar Pradesh after the Assembly polls in 2012.
He also said that the party would decide candidates for the UP assembly polls a year in advance to avoid any delay.
