Assistant sub-inspector (ASI) Vijendra Singh led the team after he received inputs that Virat Yadav, a B.Tech, was scheduled to visit a place near Jaipur Road. At 11.30 am, Singh and his men in civilian clothes reached the spot in a private car.

The team tried to intercept Yadav, a resident of Mukta Prasad colony, when he reached there on a motorcycle. But Yadav fired one round at the police team and made his way to polo ground of the adjoining BSF camp. The ASI and his men trailed Yadav who fired four times at them.

Hearing gun shots, armed BSF personnel reached the polo ground to look out for armed intruders.

Trapped from both sides, Yadav threatened police to shoot himself if anyone dared to come near him.

Yadav will be formally arrested after he recovers from his bullet wounds, Singh said, adding that police will register a case of firing against the wanted criminal.
