Padharo Mahre Desh — the line synonymous with Rajasthan on Friday saw the organisers of Partnership Summit trying to lure investors from across the globe.
Rolling out the red carpet, the Rajasthan government came all out to woo investors and be a partner of change in the desert state by highlighting huge investment opportunities in areas like solar energy, automotive, urban development; IT enabled services and defence manufacturing.
Addressing a special session on Resurgent Rajasthan on the second day of Partnership Summit-2015, chief minister Vasundhara Raje, while listing the state’s initiative to create a comfortable environment to investors said the government’s thrust was on encouraging investment and creation of job opportunities.
“I believe that the time has come for the state to showcase what it is capable of and confidently invite people to come here and Make in Rajasthan and support Government of India,” said Raje.
She said, “Rajasthan has come a long way. We had been through a very harsh environment and have been neglected for decades by the powers that be, but we stood by the test of time. Today we are, I think, one of the states that will become a leading economy within India.”
“In order to improve Rajasthan’s standing on the global map and move it towards prosperity we need to become a member of the global family. We are aiming to triple our economy growth to 12%, which is necessary to create 1.5 million jobs,” she added.
The CM said the solar energy was going to be a major strength of the state. “Investment will come if electricity and roads are good and water availability is ok. We have the least amount of water but this is the priority area for us...“We are trying to lay drinking water grid for easy off take of water from surface and chance to recharge ground water,” Raje said.

Before speaking on the policy and labour reforms, she said, “Prime Minister Narendra Modi during the vibrant Gujarat Summit had stated that we want make India the easiest place to do business. It is very nice to say but not so easy to do it. It is going to need a lot of hard work.”
On government initiatives, Rajasthan industry minister Gajendra Singh Khinvsar explained how the Micro Small Medium Enterprise (MSME) sector plays an important role in the development of a state and the country. The state has four lakh small scale industries which generate employment for 1.8 billion.
“States like Gujarat, Haryana, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu are ahead of us because Rajasthan started (development) late but now it’s on the fast track. We are trying to fine-tune industry policies and our emphasis is on skill development,” Khinvsar said.
