The ACJM court on Friday sent five suspected IM operatives arrested from Sikar to seven day police custody till April 4. The Anti-Terrorism Squad said the five accused were tasked to plant bombs at various places and one of them was also going to Afghanistan for training to be a human bomb.
The five youths, Mohammed Aqib, Mohammed Sajjad, Mohammed Waqar, Mohammed Umar and Mohammed Wahid, were arrested by the ATS from Sikar in connection with the ongoing investigation into the Indian Mujahideen’s (IM) Rajasthan module.
Additional chief judicial magistrate-11 Roopchand Suthar also gave permission to the Anti-Terrorism Squad to handcuff the accused, given the serious nature of allegations against them.
Meanwhile, Additional Director General of Police (ATS) Alok Tripathi said the Sikar module was established by Maroof alias Ibrahim, who was arrested from Jhotwara on Sunday. He had trained the five accused to plant bombs and one of them was also going to Afghanistan for training to be a human bomb.
During the search of house of the five on Friday, no explosives were found but computer, laptops and pen drives were recovered.
ATS sources said interrogation of the suspects has revealed that terror attacks could have been carried out during the assembly polls held in December.

“The ATS suspected attacks on rallies on the basis of visits of Mohammad Tehseen Akhtar alias Monu, who visited Jaipur and Jodhpur in June-July last year and procured a SIM card on fake documents from Deedwana in Nagaur district. The SIM was used for internet and not a single call was made from it,” sources said.
