In the backdrop of terror attacks in Jaipur and Ajmer, Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot on Wednesday announced several measures in the state's annual budget for the current fiscal to strengthen internal security.
"The state government is serious about stopping recurrence of terror attacks in the state, and we are taking concrete steps in this direction," Gehlot said while presenting the budget in the State Assembly on Wednesday.
The Anti-Terrorist Squad (ATS) at Jaipur will be strengthened and a new ATS unit will be set up at Jodhpur, he said.
An estimated Rs 2.5 crore will be spent over tightening security at the SriNath temple-Nathdwara and Dargah Sharif-Ajmer during the current fiscal, he said.
"Additional Emergency Responce Team each in Jodhpur and Jaipur will be constituted by spending Rs 85 lakh while SOG (Special Operation Group) units will be set up at four divisional headquarters," he said, adding, a new 'India Reserve Batallion' of 850 armed jawans will also be constituted at a cost of Rs 18 crore," he said.
Apart from these, 480 Sub-Inspectors will be recruited, 1,955 posts of constables and Head Constables will be created and 5000 vacant posts of constables will be filled.

{{/usCountry}}Arrangements of special patrolling will be made at Jaipur, Ajmer and Jodhpur to control theft, loot and other crimes.
To stop use of mobile by prisoners, mobile jammers will be installed in all central jails at a cost of Rs 10 crore, he said.
