Chief minister Vasundhara Raje said that efforts made to overcome the problem of shortage of doctors at hospitals in the state have started bearing fruits. Rajasthan is the first state in the country where five medical colleges will start at one go.
In times to come, these medical colleges will solve the problem of shortage of doctors. The medical college to be opened in Dungarpur will benefit tribal-dominated border districts of Banswara and Pratapgarh.
Raje was addressing a Jan Sanwad (public dialogue) programme at Kushalgarh in Banswara district on Monday. She started her four-day Jan Sanwad programme from Kushalgarh.
“After Independence, our government has been the first to make efforts to overcome the shortage of doctors. With schemes such as Bhamashah Swasthya Bima Yojana, poor people are getting excellent treatment even at private hospitals free of cost,” said the CM.
During the programme, farmers complained about power supply and the CM handed over the list of sarpanchs to the officers and said that they should talk to sarpanchs and take feedback on power supply. Sarpanchs of Jheekali, Vasuni, Rohania and Nayagaon were called on phone and asked about power supply. They said that they are getting six hours of power supply of three-phase and single-phase power supply for 20-22 hours in their areas.
Raje said that in last four and half years, development works worth ₹6500 crore have been done in Banswara; in Kushalgarh alone works worth ₹2000 crore have been done. She said in the district, 338km roads have been built and Gaurav Paths have been built in 26 gram panchayats.
