An NGO has come to the rescue of injured birds and animals in Jaipur. In a bid to do away with the use of plastic bags, Help Suffering Lives Society will launch a campaign to spread awareness among the people not to use plastic bags for the sake of cows and the environment.

Volunteers of the organisation would hold public meetings across the city and will show presentations on health hazards associated with the use of plastic bags and its consequences on both animals and humans.

“Many cows die because of plastic bags as they end up eating them from garbage disposed around the streets. Cows that are left abandoned during the day by their owners feed on plastic wastes. The milk such cows produce too is harmful for human,” said Sanjeev Sankhla, president of the NGO on Saturday.

“We have decided to run an intensive campaign against the use of plastic bags and it’s dumping in public areas so that cows do not get to eat it. For the drive, we are planning to associate school and college students who can make people aware and motivate them,” he added.
