The woman was provided a bed on Saturday only after the intervention of Jawahar Lal Nehru Hospital superintendent on Saturday.

“It was brought to my notice that one of the Dangawas victim was lying on the floor of the (general) ward. I inspected (the ward) and ordered to shift her on bed,” said Dr PC Verma, hospital superintendent. “Action will be taken against the erring staff.”

Thirteen victims, including six women, were brought to the JLN Hospital from Dangawas village in Nagaur district, on May 14 after a Dalit-Jat clash over a piece of land, which left four people dead. The victims suffered multiple fractures on their limbs and some of them suffered grievous injuries on their head.

Condition of injured serious

Meanwhile, sarpanch of Kirap village Heera Meghwansi, who is attending on the victims, alleged that doctors were asking them to get medicines from outside.

“I have bought medicines worth Rs 40,000, including rods and other surgical items, from outside,” said Bansi Meghwal, attendant of two victims.

Likewise, attendant for Ganpat Meghwal, said so far he had purchased three packets ‘ozoneuron’ injections for Rs 600 each.

Ministers assure help and free treatment

State public works department minister Yunus Khan and women and child welfare minister Anita Bhadel visited Dangawas victims at JLN Hospital on Sunday and inquired about their treatment.

They have assured all help to the victims.

“State government will bear all the expenses incurred for the treatment of Dangawas victims. I have directed the hospital authorities to extend free treatment to the victims,” said Khan.
