Raj govt to impose penalty for delaying MGNREGA payment

To ensure timely and justified payment to MGNREGA labourers in Rajasthan, state Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot today approved the proposal to impose a penalty on the concerned official for delayed or paltry payment to the labourers, an official said.

To ensure timely and justified payment to MGNREGA labourers in Rajasthan, state Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot on Tuesday approved the proposal to impose a penalty on the concerned official for delayed or paltry payment to the labourers, an official said.

Gehlot approved the proposal of the Panchayti Raj department under which the District Programme Coordinator or District Collector would initiate an enquiry into complaints of delayed or paltry payments, the official said.

A fine upto Rs 1,000 will be imposed on the concerned official or staff member if found guilty, he added.
