Chief minister Vasundhara Raje on Tuesday flagged off Chunav Rath (election chariot) from Bharatiya Janata Party headquarters in Jaipur, formally launching into the party into the battle for the 16 Lok Sabha.
State BJP president Ashok Parnami and other senior party office-bearers were also present on the occasion.
Parnami said that this Chunav Rath would visit every ward and assembly constituency whereas two chariots would be sent in each parliamentary constituency.
The party leaders would apprise people of how desperately the country needed a change in the face of myriad problems, like corruption, inflation, unemployment besides weakening internal and external security.
The leaders would ask people to vote for the change if they wanted the country to get out of the bog of problems under Narendra Modi’s prime ministership.
He said in order to ensure the BJP government at the Centre, the party should win all the 25 parliamentary seats in Rajasthan and for that people’s committed support would be asked for.
Party general secretary Satish Punia said these chariots would also apprise people about the failures of the Congress-led UPA government and how the scam-riddled rule had been responsible for all the problems that the people of the country faced today.

Teachers climb atop Raje’s car
A few of the 50-odd teachers associated with the Rajasthan Rajya Prathmik Shikshak Sangharsh Samiti climbed atop chief minister Vasundhara Raje’s car on Tuesday when they failed to hand over their memorandum to her at the party office. They were, however, pulled off the car by the police. But, soon they sat on the road to register their protest. They wanted to give the chief minister a memorandum in connection with the postponement of the exam for recruitment of 1000 primary education teachers , scheduled for January 19.
