"My feelings have nothing to do with the Mangalore incident. My feelings are my own and in the interest of Rajasthan and its culture and traditions," he said.

Gehlot had told reporters on Wednesday that he wanted to end the "liquor culture" in the state, for which he blamed the previous BJP government.

Backing the Chief Minister, Congress spokesman Shakeel Ahmed said that there were complaints against the then government of Vasundhara Raje that in every village there was a liquor shops, some even in front of schools and hospitals.

"A huge number of liquor shops were opened in her tenure. So may be Mr Gehlot was mentioning about her," he said.
