Woman air force officer ends life

A woman squadron leader of the IAF, Anandita Das, 29, has reportedly committed suicide by hanging herself from a ceiling fan at her residence at Jodhpur Air Force Station, 340 km from Jaipur, in Rajasthan, Rashpal Singh & Suresh Vyas report.

Her husband, squadron leader Vishak Nair, found her body in the early hours of Wednesday.

According to primary investigation, the couple had a heated argument over chatting on Facebook on Tuesday night. Subsequently, Das and Nair went to separate rooms to sleep, the police said.

The IAF has ordered a probe. No suicide note has been found so far. Das was commissioned into the IAF in 2006 and was married to Nair in 2008.
