The two parties boycotted the meeting, called to discuss development issues of the district, describing it as eyewash.

Main opposition party Trinamool Congress has boycotted a number of all party meetings called by the government on various issues.

Twelve MLAs of various Left Front constituents attended the meeting which discussed various issues like delay in distribution of SC-ST-OBC certificates and ration cards, law and problem in border areas, problem of implementation of 100-day job scheme, etc.
