Renowned film producer Dilip Kumar Sircar, son of legendary film personality B N Sircar who founded the New Theatres in 1931, died at a hospital after a prolonged illness.

He was 81 and is survived by his daughter.

The producer died of pancreatic cancer on Sunday, his family said today.
Sircar took over the reins of New Theatres after the death of his father, who was a recipient of the Dada Saheb Phalke award.
Notable films produced under his banner were 'Godhuly', 'Saheb Bibi Gulam', 'Bandhan', 'Ek Tuku Chhoa Laage' and 'Nirjan Saikatey'.
