A state Forensic research laboratory (SFRL) team will visit the basement on Sunday to conduct the basic examination, police said.

SFRL director Dhurjoti Sengupta, who visited the basement on Friday, said that the fire was suspected to have originated from from north-west side of the basement.

Due to water in the basement, they temporarily suspended their visit on Friday and said they would conduct the tests once water drained out.

There was one to two feet water in the basement caused by the fire-fighting operations by the firemen.
