A MiG-27 aircraft crashed near Alipurduar in West Bengal minutes after its take-off from Hasimara airbase on Monday, a defence ministry spokesman said in Kolkota.
The pilot ejected from the plane and is believed to be safe, he told PTI.

The aircraft crashed somewhere near Alipurduar in Jalpaiguri district around 12:30 pm, the spokesman said, adding that a team of IAF rescuers has rushed to the site.
