After cancellation of licence of Kolkata's AMRI hospital soon after Friday's disaster, West Bengal health department on Tuesday asked the hospital authorities to stop admission of any patient in its old complex.

"We have asked the AMRI hospital authorities to forthwith stop admission of any patient at its old complex in Dhakuria. Besides, several other decisions have also been taken to be officially announced tomorrow," a top health department source said.

"Even as the old complex was functional so far, most of the patients have already shifted to other hospitals. Only a few are still left," the source said.

The license for the AMRI, Dhakuria annex building had been cancelled on Friday itself.

West Bengal chief minister Mamata Banerjee directed cancellation of the licence of AMRI hospital at Dhakuria where 93 patients died in the fire.

An FIR against the hospital authorities had also been lodged under non-bailable sections on the direction of the chief minister.
