    Worrying for Hollywood.

Last week, actor Gwyneth Paltrow (who does not have a medical degree) sat down with Dr. Will Cole (who also does not have a medical degree) for his podcast The Art of Being Well, and told listeners what she eats in a day. Not only is it terrible nutritional advice (bone broth for lunch, long spells of fasting, nutrients via IV drip) it sounds like Paltrow’s own diet has addled her brain. She’s since added pics of more substantial food to her Instagram feed. We’re not falling for it.

Taking Bali off our travel list.

Indonesia no longer allows foreigners to rent motorcycles to get around the island. This comes just a few months after the controversial laws that make it illegal for unmarried couples to cohabit or have sex. Indonesia’s government says this does not apply to visitors or foreign residents, but local-versus-tourist tensions are running high on that slow-paced island. Thailand, here we come (instead)

    Skipping Indonesia entirely, actually.

KFC Indonesia collaborated with Dear Me Beauty on a makeup and skincare collection. There’s primer sunstick, eyebrow contour, matte eyeliner, even something called a “secret recipe face palette”, which comes in box adorned with fried chicken. Now, we love fried chicken. But Colonel Sanders isn’t quite our beauty model. Recipe for disaster? Extra crisp.

    Starting a new year.

So what if we’re three months in? Until 1752, Britain celebrated March 25 as the first day of the new year. The solar Julian calendar, introduced by Julius Caesar in 45 BCE, has only 365 days. Over the centuries, glitchy leap-year calculations led to too many extra days getting added. So, after 476 CE, when the Roman Empire fell, the date changed in Europe to March 25. The new Jan 1 date-keeping was set only in 1582. So, who’s ready to hit reset?

    Going off coffee.

After debuting a range of olive oil-infused drinks in 20 Italian stores, Starbucks plans to bring the drinks to the UK, Japan and then the Middle East. The Oleato range includes a latte, cold brew and the Oleato deconstructed: espresso with olive oil “infused with a luxurious passion fruit cold foam”. Leave coffee alone! Wasn’t it enough that we had to start adding ghee and butter to it? How do you say ‘gag’ in Italian?
