Love what Meghan Markle has been wearing to office on the TV show Suits? Well, now you can turn your boring shirt and trouser to a similar look with a few detachables.
Launched this month, the website FunkyDory offers detachable bow-ties, ties, and peplums that transform plain attire to a formal attire. “It is difficult to find the kind of formals +we see in movies, in India,” says Gayatri Thampi, 27, founder. “The detachable collars can make a simple formal dress, a fancy affair resembling the ones we see on screen.”

What to wear to office everyday was the question troubling Meryl Wright, 25, a marketing manager from Juhu. “With a limited number of formal dresses in my wardrobe, even mix and match didn’t help get a variety,” she says. “I saw a FunkyDory pop-up on social media and bought a black peplum for my skirt, it looked as a part of my black pencil skirt and made it look classy. The other had reached to me in three days, when I found that it was a little loose; they fit it to my waistline and bought it back in two days.”
The add-ons are made of a stretchable and wrinkle-free material called maraschino fabric and hence suitable for full-day at work. “We also offer customisation in sizes and types of add-ons. So if you like a formal look on TV and do not find it with us, we will make it for you,” says Thampi.
