Ghosi Election Results 2019: BJP won this UP seat in 2014 for the first time

The BJP won the Ghosi Lok Sabha seat for the first time in 2014 general election under the “Modi wave”. Before that, the Congress bagged the seat four times and CPI had been successful five times in the 16 elections held here.

The Ghosi parliamentary constituency was once associated with Kalpanath Rai, who represented it in the Lok Sabha for four terms.

The Bahujan Samal Party and Samajwadi Party candidates have been elected twice and once respectively.

Ghosi Lok Sabha seat covers the entire Mau district and there are five assembly segments of Madhuban, Ghosi, Muhammadabad-Gohna, Mau and Rasara under it. It has a significant population of Muslim, OBC and Dalit communities along with Brahmin and Thakur electorates.

Uttar Pradesh, which sends the maximum number of members to Parliament at 80, saw polls in all the seven phases of the Lok Sabha election 2019. BSP’s Atul Kumar Singh is currently leading in this constituency.
