Lok Sabha Elections 2019: Sena, BJP appoint western Maharashtra coordinators
While Girish Bapat has been selected from the BJP, Neelam Gorhe will take up the responsibility for the Shiv SenaUpdated: Mar 14, 2019 14:45 IST
To ensure better coordination among office-bearers and party workers, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and the Shiv Sena have appointed coordinators across the state for the 2019 Lok Sabha elections.
For the Pune region, the BJP appointed district guardian minister Girish Bapat, while the Shiv Sena appointed its spokesperson, Neelam Gorhe, as coordinators.
Bapat and Gorhe will coordinate with the BJP and Shiv Sena workers in Pune, Baramati, Shirur, Solapur, Madha and Maval Lok Sabha constituencies.
Gorhe said, “Both the parties decided to appoint coordinators. Shiv Sena has given me the responsibility of six Lok Sabha seats and both the parties will work together.”
This, the appointment of coordinators from both parties to avoid any misunderstanding, is seen as another move to showcase the unity between the saffron alliance.
The back-and-forth between the two allies in Maharashtra, currently governing the state, will now be on the plates of these coordinators, to ensure party workers at ground zero are all leaving it behind.
FADNAVIS, THACKERAY JOINT RALLY ON MARCH 18
Alliance partners, the BJP and Shiv Sena, announced that Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis and Shiv Sena supremo Uddhav Thackeray, will address a joint rally in Pune on March 18. Shiv Sena leader Neelam Gorhe said, “Both leaders confirmed their dates and are going to address BJP and Sena party workers in Pune.”
Gorhe called an urgent meeting of Sena office- bearers on Thursday (March 14) to plan the rally. Gorhe added, “Bapat and I both have the experience to handle such situations. We both met and held primary discussions.”.
