Lok Sabha elections 2019: SP and BSP to contest against each other in Dhanbad

Jharkhand state president of SP-cum-Dhanbad candidate Meraj Khan said since party is contesting on lone Dhanbad LS seat, top leaders including national president would come and campaign for him.

Senior leaders of Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) and Samajwadi Party (SP), who are contesting Lok Sabha elections in Uttar Pradesh in alliance, would campaign against each other in Dhanbad Lok Sabha seat of Jharkhand.

While SP has fielded Meraj Khan, the only candidate in the state, the BSP is contesting in 11 of the total 14 LS seats in the state. BSP fielded Meghnath Rawani against him from Dhanbad LS seat. Though BSP is contesting on 11 seats of Jharkhand, SP is in the fray only in Dhanbad parliamentary constituency.

In its star campaigners list, the BSP has given names of party supremo Mayawati, general secretary Satish Chandra Mishra, legislator Shivpujan Mehta and others while Samajwadi party has named national president Akhilesh Yadav, vice-president Azam Khan, TN Nanda and others.
