Voicing concern over the law and order situation in the state capital, UPCC president Rita Bahuguna Joshi sent a letter to the state DGP demanding immediate arrest of the murderers.

She warned of an agitation in the state in case those behind the murders were not arrested within two days, Congress spokesman Subodh Srivastava said in a release here.

Three members of a family, including a minor girl, were killed by unidentified persons in Thakurganj area while a mother and a daughter were murdered in Gaumtinagar locality. The release also said a dalit woman was allegedly attacked by BSP workers in Sitapur district.

Bahuguna condemned the alleged attack on the dalit woman and demanded immediate arrest of all those involved in it. She also visited the houses of those killed as well as the trauma centre where the dalit woman was admitted, the release said.
