A 7-foot robot of a Ravana will have a movable head, hands and weapons. But, the builders aren’t revealing weather they have fitted e-circuits and motors to make that happen. They say, “Just watch!”

“Unlike the last years, this year’s lila has a theme. Though the story remains the same and no alterations can be made in out every year to add to the practice,” said Aditya Dwivedi, coordinator of the Aishbagh Ramlila.

The stage is a replica of the Gangotri temple. It has been designed by Jeetendra Kumar, an ex- student of the Arts College to spread the word about respecting the Ganga. laser lights from next year, said Dwivedi and added, the idea is to make Ramlila appeal to the younger generation too.

“We have used special gadgets to show movable Ganga in the Kevat scene where Ram crosses the river on a boat. The effect is so realistic that the audiences burst into applause,” said Dwivedi.

Hanuman’s crossing the ocean, Meghnath’s invisibility in the Lanka scene, Sita’s crossing the Lakshman Rekha and the Kumbhakaran Lila with huge laddoos and chapattis are some other attractions with the use of technology, said Dwivedi.
