The booklet is important because the cash memo inside will indicate the number of subsidised cylinders being delivered against the entitlement of consumer, he said.

If any consumer loses the booklet then he must obtain a new one from the distributor, he said.

“After the withdrawal of subsidy from the cooking gas cylinders, a lot of confusion has been created so the air must be cleared. There is no restriction on the number of non-subsidised cylinders that consumers can avail themselves of beyond the three subsidised LPG refills,” he said.

The subsidised LPG domestic cylinder would cost Rs. 417, nonsubsidized would cost Rs. 912, nondomestic (exempted) would cost R1121 and commercial cylinder Rs. 1725 in Lucknow.

He said, “There is no dearth of LPG cylinders during the festive season. Every month around 30 lakh LPG cylinders are sold in Lucknow region alone.”

He said there was no ban on new connections. It’s just that an exercise to know double connections from different gas companies is going on. It would be completed within two to three days. After that anyone would be welcomed to take new connection, he explained.
